Tel Aviv

Day 1 (Monday – Nov. 7th): Depart from your city to meet in New York and travel together to Tel Aviv, Israel. Beverages and meals will be served on board.

Day 2 (Tuesday – Nov. 8th): Arriving in the afternoon at Ben Gurion Airport, through Passport Control, we will meet in the carousel area with a tour representative who will introduce us to Rami Danieli, founder of Tour Your Roots and one of the top Israeli tour guides in the Land. With him, we will board our luxury bus for our first taste of Israel as we travel toward the Negev Desert to our hotel in Arad. Here we will meet, dine with and enjoy a few songs and words from George and Baht Rivka Whitten, leaders of Worthy Network International and the hosts of your tour.

Dead Sea

Day 3 (Wednesday – Nov. 9th): Our first morning will find us en route to a spring fed oasis in the desert along the coast of Yam Hamelach (The Dead Sea). It is a beautiful Nature Reserve called Ein Gedi, where hinds are often seen on high places, where David hid from Saul, and King Solomon drew imagery to describe his beloved Shulamite. The rest of our day will be devoted to experiencing the wonder of the Dead Sea. We will float in the salty waters, after we (adventurous ones) have covered ourselves in mineral rich Dead Sea mud from the sea floor, and enjoy relaxing mineral spas, outdoor pool, whirlpool, steam room, etc at our beach resort hotel. Dead Sea mineral beauty treatments and massages will be available (for an additional cost).

Day 4 (Thursday – Nov. 10th): Our second day will take us to the area of Sodom and Gomorra where we will dig for sulfur balls, the remaining evidence of supernatural judgments which occurred there some 4000 years ago. Proceeding north along the Dead Sea coast to Masada, we will ride up the incline to explore the ancient ruins of this final stronghold where a Roman ramp drove a contingent of Jewish rebels to their desperate suicide. Then onward, to Gideon Springs and the Sachne Nature Reserve for a bathe in its warm natural pools. By evening we will arrive in the beautiful Galilee region, passing through the Jordan Valley to check in to our Kibbutz Holiday Village, by the Sea of Galilee.

View from Mount Arbel overlooking the Sea of Galilee

Day 5 (Friday – Nov. 11th): Today will begin a wonder-filled exploration of the Galilee with emphasis on experiencing first hand, the region described in the gospels as the place of Jesus’ appearing. We will expect to gain deeper insight into the Messiah’s life and ministry as we read together the passages which describe events that took place in this beautiful and profoundly significant location. Beginning at the traditional Mount of Beatitudes, we will proceed through Capernaum, where the foundation of the Apostle Peter’s house remains, then on to the Tayelet (Boardwalk) for a bite to eat and a bit of shopping. We will then visit Yardenit, a baptismal site at the Jordan River for an optional Mikveh (Baptism), and the sunset will find us on a boat ride through the peaceful waters of the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee), singing as we sail.

Day 6 (Saturday – Nov. 12th): Our first Shabbat (Sabbath) in Israel will start with our own private service with George and Baht Rivka after breakfast in our Kibbutz Hotel. As Shabbat is a time of rest in Israel, the remainder of the day will be devoted to resting or quiet meditation, swimming, a stroll on the beach, etc. In the late afternoon, an optional Hike on Mt. Arbel to watch the sunset over the Sea of Galilee and the Golan Heights will be offered.

Banias Waterfalls

Day 7 (Sunday – Nov. 13th): Today we will visit the upper regions of Northern Israel and the main sources of the Jordan River at the foot of Mt. Hermon, a traditional site for Jesus’ Transfiguration. Beginning with a visit to Caesarea Philippi, the Banias Falls and continuing with a beautiful scenic drive to the Golan Heights, we will visit a local Winery for a tour and wine tasting and an Israeli Military Bunker (Mt. Bental) which overlooks the Israeli-Syrian border. Our group will then take a short stint working with IDF soldiers on an Israeli Army base, and have lunch in their dining room. In the afternoon, there will be an optional visit to a Children’s Home, an opportunity to spend time with some less fortunate Israeli children and give out some special gift packages we will have prepared for them.

Day 8 (Monday – Nov. 14th): Today we will head toward Nazareth, a thriving city well-known as the place where Jesus grew up. Driving through the city we will also pass through Cana on our way to Tel Megiddo, one of Solomon’s ancient chariot cities, in the Jezreel Valley, future site for the battle of Armageddon. We will take in a prophetic bird’s eye view of this awesome valley from Mt. Carmel, where Elijah slew the prophets of Baal. Traveling then to the ancient Roman city of Caesarea, where Gentiles were first joined to the Olive Tree of Israel, will afford our first close glimpse of the Mediterranean through the arches of an ancient aqueduct. As the day closes we will make our way up to Jerusalem, checking into our hotel by early evening.

Jerusalem - Western Wall

Day 9 (Tuesday – Nov. 15th): Today we begin to delve into Jerusalem, City of the Great King, learning of its design, topography, history and destiny. Commencing at The City of David where the King’s palace once stood, we continue through the shallow stream in Hezekiah’s Tunnel to the Pool of Siloam, where the tower fell and the blind man was healed. A short stroll will take us through the Walled City of Jerusalem via the Jaffa Gate and into the colors, fragrances, and bustle of the Arab Market. From there we precede to the Jewish Quarter to visit The Burnt House and The Temple Institute, a remarkable modern museum where many articles for the third Jewish Temple have been meticulously prepared by ultra-orthodox Jews. Finally, just before dinner we will trek together the famous Machane Yehudah Shuk (Jewish Outdoor Marketplace), where we can smell, taste and purchase just about anything that grows under the Israeli sun.

Day 10 (Wednesday – Nov. 16th): Today continues our exploration of Jerusalem at the Southern Steps of the Temple Mount, where Jesus and His disciples sat and conversed and he taught the multitudes surrounding them. Following this, we visit the most holy site for Jews around the world – The Kotel (The Western Wall). Afternoon we board our bus for Judea and Samaria and a visit to Shiloh, where the Tabernacle of Moses was pitched for over 300 years. We will stop at Mt. Gerizim overlooking the beautiful Ebal, and pass Beit El on our way to our next stop at Elon Moreh, where God first showed the Promised Land to Abraham. Time permitting; we will also visit Tzedekiah’s Cave, a five-acre underground quarry, a remnant of the biggest quarry in Jerusalem.

Day 11 (Thursday – Nov. 17th): Our final day in Jerusalem will be an on-site meditation on the last days of Jesus’ earthly sojourn when He paid the price for the salvation of the world. We will experience a breathtaking view of the Old City of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives and follow His footsteps to Gethsemane where ancient olive trees still remember Jesus’ cries to the Father and His prayer for us ‘to be one’. This moving day will close with a visit to The Garden Tomb, one possible authentic site for Jesus’ burial. We will enter the empty tomb rejoicing, because He Is Not Here, He Is Risen! Afternoon, we drive to Tel Aviv-Jaffa for a stroll on the ancient city streets, a visit to the oldest bakery in the city for a taste of some of the most amazing pastries and delicacies known to man, and then a unique farewell dinner, at a Tel Aviv restaurant right on the beach, (barefoot in the cool sand, wind on your face, sounds of the waves hitting the shore) before returning to the airport for our night flight back home.

Day 12 (Friday – Nov. 18th): Arrival back in the USA.

OPTION TO STAY AN EXTRA WEEK for a time of rest, relaxation and additional touring with George and Rivka Whitten – $400 plus/minus — depending on costs and how many will stay (lunch and dinner not included).
